You are able to ride an electric bike on all Queensland roads and paths, except where bicycles are prohibited. Your rights and responsibilities when riding are the same as all other road users.
You don't need to obtain a licence before riding an electric bike and you are under no obligation to register the e-bike or insure it.
To ride on the road legally, your bike's motor must cut out at 25 km/h so you do not reach higher speeds than this unless you are pedalling.
