About the role
As a Bike Mechanic at iScoot, you will be responsible for ensuring the efficient repair, maintenance, and assembly of bicycles, e-bikes, and scooters to the highest industry standards.
Your role will involve diagnosing issues, performing tune-ups, and collaborating with team members to deliver outstanding service that meets customer needs. You will play a vital role in promoting a safe and enjoyable cycling experience for our customers.
Responsibilities
Bicycle and Scooter Maintenance
- Diagnose, repair, and maintain a wide range of bicycles, e-bikes, and scooters.
- Perform routine maintenance, including brake adjustments, gear tuning, and wheel truing.
- Assemble new bikes and scooters for display and sale.
Customer Service
- Interact with customers to understand their service needs and provide advice on repairs and upgrades.
- Communicate repair costs, timelines, and options effectively and professionally.
Inventory Management
- Ensure the availability of essential spare parts and tools by monitoring inventory levels.
- Assist in ordering and organizing parts and supplies as needed.
Safety and Compliance
- Adhere to safety standards and ensure all repairs and assemblies meet industry regulations.
- Keep the workshop clean, organized, and compliant with workplace health and safety guidelines.
Team Collaboration
- Work closely with other team members to ensure a seamless customer experience.
- Support store events, promotions, and workshops as required.
Qualifications and Skills
Essential
- Proven experience as a bike mechanic, with expertise in repairing and maintaining a variety of bicycles and scooters.
- Strong mechanical skills and attention to detail.
- Knowledge of e-bike systems and technology.
- Excellent customer service and communication skills.
- Ability to work in a fast-paced environment and manage time effectively.
Desirable
- Formal training or certification in bicycle mechanics.
- Familiarity with retail operations and point-of-sale systems.
- Passion for cycling and knowledge of cycling trends and products.
