To qualify for trade-in, the scooter or bike must be in working condition or require only minor repairs. The frame should be structurally sound, without major cracks, dents, or damage. Scooters that have been involved in serious accidents are not eligible.
The battery must be functional and capable of holding a charge. The scooter should power on and operate as intended. If a charger is required for normal operation, it must be included. All electronic components, including the display, lights, and controls, must be intact and working properly.
Brakes, whether mechanical or electronic, must be functional, and the throttle and braking system should respond correctly. Essential safety components must be intact and not missing or broken.
The original or equivalent handlebars, deck, and folding mechanism must be present and functional. The scooter should not have missing critical components such as the motor, controller, or folding mechanism. Any modifications, including aftermarket parts or performance tuning, must be disclosed during the trade-in process.
The scooter should be clean and free from excessive dirt, mud, or debris. If the scooter has excessive wear or punctures in the tires, or if certain components are not functioning, it may still be eligible for trade-in, but this will affect the final valuation.
Customers can choose between two trade-in processes based on their preference.
With the Deposit-Based Process, the customer first pays a refundable deposit equal to the trade-in value and receives a gift card for this amount. Using the gift card, they can place an order for a new scooter or bike. After placing the order, the customer ships their trade-in scooter to us for evaluation. Once received, our team inspects the scooter to verify that it matches the description provided. If everything checks out, the deposit is refunded. If there are discrepancies, a revised trade-in value is offered.
With the Direct Shipment Process, the customer ships their scooter to us first for evaluation. After receiving and inspecting the scooter, we issue a gift card equal to the agreed trade-in value. The customer can then use the gift card to purchase a new scooter or bike from our store.
Once the scooter arrives at our facility, our technicians inspect it to confirm that its condition matches the information provided. If everything aligns, the trade-in value is issued as originally quoted. If there are differences in condition, we will provide a revised trade-in value. The customer then has the option to accept the new valuation or request the return of their scooter. If they choose to have it returned, they will be responsible for the shipping costs.
Customers may choose to arrange their own shipping or request a prepaid shipping label from iScoot. If they opt for an iScoot-provided shipping label, the cost of shipping will be deducted from the trade-in value before the gift card is issued or the deposit is refunded.
Scooters that are completely non-functional or beyond economical repair are not eligible for trade-in. We also cannot accept scooters with severe water damage or corrosion that affects performance, as well as heavily modified or altered scooters that are unsafe for resale. Additionally, if a scooter does not match the description provided in the initial assessment, and the customer declines the revised valuation, the scooter will not be eligible for trade-in.
To complete the trade-in process, a form of ID will be requested once the customer agrees to the final trade-in value.
